Teddy Geiger - Bio and Album Download

posted under by taper23

Pop singer/songwriter Teddy Geiger has had a busy year.  His first major label CD, Underage Thinking was released.  He's on his way to being a bona fide teen idol, if he isn't already, thanks in part to his touring schedule as well as being the first male on the cover of Seventeen Magazine in five years.  He recently celebrated his eighteenth birthday.  And Sony Records re-issued that album (subtitled on the cover as "Look Where We Are Now," which is one of the tracks on the record) in a special edition, which I think is great.  Actually, what I really think is this is the type of treatment the release should have gotten originally. The additional materials offer a wider view into who Teddy Geiger is as an artist and as a person tied up in a two disc (one CD and one DVD) set.

For the uninitiated, Teddy Geiger is pure pop, through and through.  He writes tight yet ethereal melodies.  He's no slough on the musical side of things by any means, as he taught himself to play both piano and guitar before he was eight years old. And on this release he played those instruments as well as bass and drums.  His lyrics belie his age with wisdom and sensitivity.  On the original version of U.T. (Underage Thinking), he wrote or co-wrote eleven out of the twelve songs.  His voice is blend of husky and sweetness like lemon with honey; when coupled with his romantic words, he can melt a cynic's heart.

Those are the reasons why you should have bought U.T. at it's initial release.  Now let me tell you why, whether you are a confirmed "Tedhead" or just finding out about Teddy, you need to get the"Look Where We Are Now" edition.

First you have the original music CD, which is good stuff just by itself.  However, the vaults of Teddy have been opened up and eight additional tracks have been included.  I mean just that when I say vault as four of the songs were written when Teddy was 14 and 15 years old and recording in the basement studio of his parents' home.  Two of them are extendo-mixes that Teddy did himself for "These Walls" and "For You I Will (Confidence)", the two singles and music videos that were released.  Of the final two tracks, "As We Get Older" doesn't have a timeframe attached to it, while "Our Eyes" is a new demo.  Each of the demos is prefaced by Teddy telling a little bit about the song first.
